Wear parts are vehicle components that deteriorate and require replacement during normal operation. These components are not considered an essential part of regular maintenance, as defined by the maintenance program issued by the respective vehicle manufacturer. A component may also not qualify as a wear part if the vehicle is used in a manner that exceeds normal operating conditions or falls outside standard usage parameters.
For example, if a vehicle remains stationary for extended periods and is rarely used, leading to battery failure, the battery will not be classified as a wear part. Similarly, if a vehicle is exclusively operated on construction sites or quarries, causing its components to wear out significantly faster than under regular road conditions, such parts will not qualify as wear parts.

Common Wear Parts:
Brake discs and pads
Handbrake cables and components of electronic parking brakes
Light bulbs
Suspension components (if not covered by warranty), such as shock absorbers, control arm bushings, ball joints, tie rods, springs, wheel bearings, etc.
Starter battery
Alternator
Drive belts and tensioners
Clutch and its components if there is no sign of misuse (for example “clutch burning”)
Windshield wipers
Additional filter replacements (e.g., cabin filter replacements more frequently than the manufacturer’s specified intervals)
Fire extinguisher inspection and certification
Wheel alignment unless required due to an external force (e.g., hitting a pothole)
Air conditioning recharge, provided there are no leaks
Components Not Considered Wear Parts:
Any issue with the high-voltage battery (for electric and hybrid vehicles)
Any wear parts if maintenance intervals have been exceeded
Refilling AdBlue or windshield washer fluid
Particulate filters (DPF, GPF) and their cleaning
Any component failure caused by an external force (e.g., CV joint boots damaged due to accumulated ice, snow, or mud)
